Cooking in the home
Well I love to prepare food, more often than not. Like majority of the women now I’m extremely occupied. Yet I truly do love to get into the galley and turn out mouth-watering feast for my family. I take great enjoy being the talk of the town “If you get invited to Alice’s House for dinner, don’t say no, she is an incredible cook”. That is among the many comments that have been propagate about my cooking prowess. It makes me very happy. I have some most-liked cook books and I like to fiddle with the recipes . I often go back to the book I got a recipe from years later and realize that what I’m creating is quite different compared to original recipe. I believe it is the mark of a great cook if you can change a recipe to make it work better or make something up on the fly.
To be honest we are all very busy and at times we simply need to have something simple and fast to cook. Well there’s no way I’d get away with baked beans on toast for dinner in this house, butI do possess a few tricks up my sleeve for when I’m just to tired lack time or could not be bothered.
Calling to get a Pizza is unthinkable, unless of course it is a code red catastrophe (which happens sometimes). And so i am left with, what can i do that is really quick? Nowadays we’re spoilt for choice with a few of the packet mixes and jars that are around, and thus many of them are really good (some are not). I have to say that a recently discovered favourite of mine is the Continental apricot chicken curry. Now usually I would need to add some of my own twist to a packet mix, but this one delivers purely following the directions. A long time favourite is the quick cook meatballs from Woolworths with a jar of my very favourite Paul Newman’s own pasta sauce along with a can of diced tomatoes. If I want a curry in a rush I really have to make a little bit of a sacrifice on taste but Passage of India Curry Sauces are worth a try. Now truly, none of this is just like cooking yourself, however it works when you are hard pressed for time and will mean that you can get something way better than a frozen TV dinner on the table.
